ABOUT
Abhinav “Abhi” Chatterjee is a filmmaker and artist from Miami, Florida. Abhi started making woodblock prints at the age of 12 and began pursuing film at 18. In order to create a unique visual style, Abhi often incorporates his original woodblock animations in films he directs. To date, Abhi has directed 6 short films and produced 7 short films, some of which have shown in festivals across the world. Abhi hopes to continue merging his original woodblock print animations with live action film in upcoming narrative and documentary productions currently in development.
Abhi studied product design and fine art at Design and Architecture Senior High school in Miami, Florida. While in high school he also completed an intensive 3 week program in design and art at The Cleveland Institute of Art. Since the age of 12 Abhi has been mentored in printmaking by artist, and fellow printmaker Brian Reedy. Abhi graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor of science degree in Motion Pictures and a minor in Media Management.
